Our Vision and Mission:
Believing that municipal recreation is an essential component of a quality
community, and that recreation is understood to include passive, active,
sport, culture and park activities, the North Perth Parks and Recreation
Department has the following vision:
To create a community which provides the best possible
recreational opportunities for all citizens.

Arenas & Community
Centres
During the summer months, the arena floor is available at all locations
for rentals. Don't forget about our fabulous community centres that
are available for rentals all year-round. All these facilities can
be used for dances, buck and does, birthdays and other community special
events. All are fully licensed. EMCC now has round tables - perfect
for weddings!
Swimming Pools
We have two large 25-metre pools, in Listowel and Atwood, respectively.
There is also a wading pool in Listowel for the little ones. These
are available for private rental and birthday parties. Refer to

Ball Diamonds
The Municipality of North Perth is very fortunate to have a variety of excellent
ball diamonds for the size of the community. We have diamonds for slo-pitch,
softball, and fastball in all locations and an amazing hardball field
at John Bell South in Listowel. We coordinate the booking and maintenance
of all our diamonds, and most are equipped with lights. All our diamonds
are available for team play and tournaments from mid-May to mid-September.
Soccer Pitches
We are also fortunate to have a large number of soccer fields in Listowel,
Wallace and Elma. We have fields to suit all ages. These are available
for team play and tournaments from the first of May to mid September.
Pavilions & Playgrounds
North Perth has a beautiful public open space system. We have many
beautiful playground areas that contain walking paths and benches for
a serene feeling. Our community parks Include pavilions that are available
for rental at all of our locations (Wallace, Atwood, Monkton and Listowel)
for reunions, picnics, etc.
Tennis Courts
We have fabulous courts available in Listowel, Atwood and Monkton
for everyone to use. We have night courts in Listowel (Optimist Park),
Monkton and in Atwood for the 'night hawks. For all tennis courts, the
following Tennis Courtesy Rule is in effect: When people are waiting
for a court, players must stop playing on the half hour (e.g. 3:00
or 3:30) regardless of when they began play. Tennis takes precedence
over all other sports or the courts at all times.
Walking Trails
Listowel Memorial Park has a beautiful walking trail along the Maitland
River featuring many eye-catching flower gardens and parks. The
North Perth Trail Committee has been working hard to provide us with
a wonderful
trail that goes from Kurtzville to Atwood. Enjoy this trail for
walking, biking, jogging, cross-country skiing, bird watching and

Bocce & Lawn Bowling
There are Bocce courts in Listowel and Lawn Bowling courts in Atwood.

these activities.
Skateboard Park
The skateboard park is located In Memorial Park. It is equipped with
rails, a fun box and various ramps. It is recommended that helmets,
elbow pads and knee pads be worn at all times.
