North Perth Fire Service
A sixty person volunteer fire department covers the Municipality of North Perth, which includes the former Town of Listowel, the former Township
of Elma, and the former Township of Wallace. The average response
time is five minutes for an emergency.
Equipment at the Listowel Station includes a pumper unit, an aerial
ladder, truck and pumper, and tanker unit. The Atwood Station has
a pumper unit, two tanker units, and a rescue truck. The Monkton
Station has a pumper unit and a tanker unit.
A full range of fire services are provided, including fire inspection,
building plan review, community education, and mutual aid.

North Perth is a 16-officer detachment. Their
mission is to preserve law and order. The officers work to prevent
crimes, provide safety and security to persons and property,
enforce municipal by-laws, patrol provincial highways, enforce
laws concerning vehicle traffic, liquor, gambling and illegal
drugs, all under the provincial statutes and criminal code |
