The Listowel Business Improvement Area (BIA) is a not-for-profit organization. Our main purpose is to foster a thriving business community. We are designated as a Business Improvement Area (BIA) through the Ontario Municipal Act and a Municipality of North Perth by-law.
Our volunteer Board of Directors consists of up to 12 members. This board governs the Listowel BIA. Members include representatives from the business community, property owners, Municipal staff and a Municipal Council representative. We also employ a part-time Coordinator.
We thrive through the support and participation of property and business owners. There are several ways to get involved - via the Board of Directors and sub-committees such as the Marketing Committee.
We are currently working on several initiatives. We use our Facebook Page Discover Listowel and Instagram account Discover Listowel to promote all the business community has to offer.
We also maintain the four grand entrance signs to the community, the street banners in the downtown area, and the annual summer flowers and seasonal decorating throughout the designated area. We are actively marketing the area through print, radio, and social media advertising, with the goal of attracting more customers and businesses.
