The Municipal Election for all municipalities in the Province of Ontario will be Monday, October 22, 2018. For the 2018 election, the Municipality of North Perth will be using composite ballots with the tabulators.

The nomination period for individuals to register as election candidates has changed as a result of amendments to the Municipal Elections Act. The nomination period for the 2018 election begins May 1 and ends July 27, 2018. Individuals wishing to register as candidates in the 2018 municipal election must ensure their nomination papers are filed within this window.

The Municipal Elections Act now includes a framework to regulate third party advertising. The framework will come into effect on April 1, 2018, so that the rules will be in place for the 2018 municipal election. The 2018 Election is being conducted at polling stations using ballots and vote tabulators. Individuals interested in working during the municipal election are invited to submit an application for consideration. The Municipality of North Perth is an Equal Opportunity Employer. A Joint Compliance Audit Committee has been established by the municipalities of North Perth, Perth East, Perth South, St. Marys, Stratford and West Perth pursuant to the requirements of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 as amended. Applications for this Committee are now being accepted. Please submit your application to the Clerk of the County of Perth. The deadline for applications is May 4, 2018. On June 9, 2016, the Municipal Elections Modernization Act, 2016, or Bill 181, received Royal Assent making a number of changes to the MEA. Key dates
- May 1, 2018: First day candidates can file nomination papers and first day third party advertisers can register.
- July 27, 2018: Last day candidates can file nomination papers.
- October 19, 2018: Last day third party advertisers can register.
- October 22, 2018: Election Day.
