North Perth strives to offer a variety of sport, leisure and recreation opportunities for our community in accordance with Provincial, Public Health and Municipal protocols and direction during the COVID-19 pandemic. Programs are subject to change or cancellation.

Check out the Community Connection Newsletter or the community and recreation calendar for details on upcoming programs for you.

Contact us to register for a program. For financial assistance to participate in sports and recreation in North Perth, refer to the North Perth Sports for Kids Fund application form.

Courses, Training & Workshops: REGISTER HERE

North Perth offers a variety of Courses for our Community, Businesses, Service Clubs and Schools to meet the needs of our growing Community and interests. Additional courses and workshops offered by North Perth Instructors include; Infant/Toddler Basic First Aid and Choking workshop, Grade 8 in-School CPR, Mental Health and Wellness Series.  Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR

Comprehensive 8-hour online independent study and 8-hour in class teaching and skills training is designed to develop and teach first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills. This course is designed for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home
and in the community. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. All participants will receive the First Aid & CPR Manual and a Canadian Red Cross Profile with Certificate. *Organizations, Businesses, and Independent bookings welcome. 

Babysitting Course

This one day course offers basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11-15 years of age. Participants learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. This course also offers youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families. All participants will receive the Babysitter’s Manual and Completion Certificate.

Home Alone for Kids Course

Is your child ready to stay home alone? The Home Alone Safety for Kids program is a one day course designed to help children and their families get ready for their child’s first steps towards independence and being without
adult supervision. This safety program is ideally suited for children aged 9-12 years old. Safety and accident prevention are the common theme throughout the program. The information is relevant and current. Course content includes but not limited to Street smarts, people safety, safe snacking and basic first aid. All participants will receive the Home Alone Safety For Kids manual and certificate of attendance.

Counsellor-In Training (CIT)

A fun, informative training session for ages 13 years or older where you will develop leadership skills and gain hands-on experience in a day camp setting. You’ll make new friends, gain self-confidence and develop leadership skills. Counsellor’s-In-Training assist and learn the delivery of quality programs to the children in our Community. You will have a chance to practice your skills during a 2-week placement at our camps. A certificate will be issued upon completion of all requirements. Class number is limited.

Fitness

 Atwood Fitness Classes
  New - Fun - Challenging! All workouts can be modified to suit individual participants needs and fitness level.
Wallace Bootcamp Fitness
 A bootcamp that is meant for all ages, phases and stages of exercise.  Classes will include using your own body weight, dumbbells and some circuits.  Please bring a mat and dumbbells.
Girls Empowerment
Gr. 7 & 8 Girls Fitness & Empowerment: This program will allow young girls to explore different avenues of physical fitness and well being!

By participating in this program; they will experience healthy living tips, goal setting, physical activity, support and learn that you can be “feminine” and still be physically active.

The Municipality of North Perth is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and quality camp program that encourages and promotes a healthy, active lifestyle and healthy child development.  All program staff receive training in leadership, program planning, communication, emergency management, behaviour management and problem solving.  Our camp staff strive to provide and plan a variety of activities and outings such as; Games, Crafts, Skating, Swimming, Library, Fire Hall, Parks and more!  *Outings and activities are season dependent.   Visit our Registration Page for more details and to register

Program Release & Assumption of Risk

Program release and assumption of risk form must be completed prior to attending programs.

Rowan's Law

Rowan's Law (Concussion Safety), 2018 makes it mandatory for sports organizations to:

  1. Ensure athletes under 26 years of age, parents of athletes under 18, coaches, team trainers and officials confirm every year that they have reviewed Ontario's Concussion Awareness Resources
  2. Establish a Code of Conduct that sets out rules of behaviour to support concussion prevention
  3. Establish a Removal-from-Sport and Return-to-Sport protocol

As a Municipality providing recreation programming, North Perth is considered a sports organization under this law. To participate in our recreation programs, participants and their parents/guardians must:

  • review the Concussion Code of Conduct for Athletes and Parents/Guardians; and
  • complete the Receipt of Review of Concussion Code of Conduct for Athletes and Parents/Guardians and Receipt of Review of Concussion Awareness Resource at time of registration
