Fire Prevention and Inspections
When conducting a fire inspection, we are looking for compliance with the Ontario Fire Code.
Common violations include:
- Non functioning or missing smoke alarms;
- Blocked exits;
- missing and breached fire separations;
- Electrical hazards; and
- Unsafe accumulation of combustible materials.
Types of Inspections
Under the Ontario Fire Code, owners of a certain occupancies are required to contact us to request an annual fire safety inspection.
We conduct fire inspections when we receive a request from the property owner.
We calculate occupancy load and do any required inspections for liquor licence applications in conjunction with the building department.
There are rates and fees for the inspections that we conduct.
