NOTICE OF NOMINATION FOR OFFICE
Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (s. 32)

NOTICE is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the
MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH

Nominations in the Municipality of North Perth will be accepted beginning on Friday, May 1, 2026, for the following elected offices for the Municipal Election to be held on Monday, October 26, 2026:

Mayor 1 to be elected
Deputy Mayor 1 to be elected
Councillor - Elma Ward 3 to be elected
Councillor - Listowel Ward 3 to be elected
Councillor - Wallace Ward 2 to be elected

Avon Maitland District School Board (English Public):
1 to be elected from the Municipality of North Perth. Nominations to be filed with the Clerk, Municipality of North Perth.

Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board (English Separate):
1 to be elected from the Township of Perth East, Municipality of North Perth and Municipality of Huron East. Nominations to be filed with the Clerk, Municipality of Huron East.

Conseil Scolaire Viamonde (French Public):
1 to be elected from the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, Counties of Middlesex, Wellington, Perth and Huron. Nominations to be filed with the Clerk, City of London.

Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence (French Separate):
1 to be elected from the Counties of Oxford, Grey and Perth. Nominations to be filed with the Clerk, City of Sarnia.

In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, nominations must be filed using the prescribed forms, accompanied by the prescribed nomination filing fee of $200 for Mayor and $100 for all other offices (Deputy Mayor, Councillor, School Board Trustee). Nominations for an office on a Council must be endorsed by at least 25 persons who are eligible to vote in the Municipality on the day that they signed the endorsement.

A nomination must be signed by the candidate and may be filed in person or by an agent by booking an appointment with election staff, during regular business hours between May 1, 2026 and August 20, 2026. On August 21, 2026 (Nomination Day) nominations can be filed between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. without an appointment. When filing, the candidate must provide identification which includes their name and qualifying address. If a nomination for a candidate is filed by an agent, a letter must be submitted at the time of filing which authorizes the agent to file on behalf of the candidate. The letter must be signed by the candidate and commissioned or notarized by a person authorized under the Commissioners for Taking Affidavits Act or Notaries Act. In addition to this letter, an agent must also provide a copy of the candidate’s identification.

No person who proposes to be a candidate may solicit or accept contributions for election purposes or incur campaign expenses until a nomination paper has been filed.
