  • Municipality of North Perth Responds to Cybersecurity Incident

    North Perth, November 26, 2025 – The Municipality of North Perth is looking into a cybersecurity incident that we discovered on November 25, 2025. As soon as we became aware of it, we took steps to secure our systems, including taking some systems offline to stop any further unauthorized access.

    We are working with cybersecurity experts to help contain the issue, restore our systems, and understand exactly what happened.

    The investigation is still in the early stages. If we learn that any personal or sensitive information was affected, we will contact those involved in accordance with all legal requirements.

    This is a top priority for the Municipality, and we are working hard to resolve the situation safely and as quickly as we can. We will share more updates as we have them.

  • Mayor’s 2026 Budget Balances Service Levels, Infrastructure, and Fiscal Responsibility

    The 2026 Mayor’s Budget has been released and is now available for public review. During this time, Council members may review the budget, provide input, and propose amendments before final approval.

    The 2026 Mayor’s Budget takes a balanced approach, maintaining current service levels while investing in the renewal of essential infrastructure. The proposed budget includes a property tax increase of 6.61 per cent, equal to about $161 per year for a median assessed residential household on the North Perth portion of the property tax bill.  

  • Enbridge Gas Ontario teams up with North Perth Fire Department to Reduce Fire and Carbon Monoxide Deaths through Safe Community Project Zero

    Municipality of North Perth, ON, October 30, 2025 – Today, Enbridge Gas Ontario (Enbridge Gas), the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council (FMPFSC) and the North Perth Fire Department announced they are working together to improve home safety and bring fire and carbon monoxide-related deaths down to zero.


    The North Perth Fire Department received 192 combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms through Safe Community Project Zero–a public education campaign that will provide more than 14,200 alarms to residents in 75 communities across Ontario.

  • Municipal Class Environmental Assessment

    THE PROJECT:
    The 2025 Servicing Master Plan for the Communities of Listowel and Atwood identified the need for additional water storage in both communities to accommodate expected growth. For Listowel, the Servicing Master Plan recommended that additional storage be located in the north part of the community. For Atwood, the Master Plan identified potential expansion opportunities at the existing facilities, in addition to a potential new facility in the north part of the community. (see attached figure). It is also recommended that additional water supply for Atwood be considered.

  • Fines and Fees Waived in Celebration of Ontario Public Library Week

    North Perth, October 20, 2025 - Ontario Public Library Week is from October 19 – 26th and the North Perth Public Library is making a big splash by reducing barriers! Starting Monday, October 20th,  drop by any open branch to get all fines and fees waived from accounts and enter to win an iPad, hand-crafted mugs, and treats.

     

  • North Perth Launches New Public Safety Video to Share a Powerful Message

    North Perth, October 10, 2025 – The Municipality of North Perth and the North Perth Fire Department are proud to launch a new Grain Bin Safety Public Service Announcement (PSA) created by Memory Tree Productions. This impactful 60-second video raises awareness about the serious risks associated with grain bins and promotes safe practices within the agricultural community.

  • Perth County Reads brings back Celebrated Author Dan Needles

    North Perth, October 1, 2025 - The Perth County Information Network (PCIN) is thrilled to announce the return of Dan Needles for two author readings as part of its 2025 Perth County Reads events. Perth County Reads is a community-wide reading initiative designed to inspire conversation, connection, and a shared love of literature across the county.

  • Notice of Public Information Centre: North Perth’s Stormwater Rate Study

    North Perth residents are invited to attend the Public Information Centre on the proposed reconstruction of Binning Street West to learn more about the project, ask questions, and provide comments.

  • Municipality of North Perth Donates Land to Community Living North Perth for Supported Housing Project

    On September 8, 2025, North Perth Council unanimously supported the donation of a municipally-owned parcel of land at 580 Main Street West, Listowel, to Community Living North Perth for the development of a 15-unit supported housing facility. The 0.3 acre parcel of land, which has been declared surplus by the Municipality, has an estimated market value of $250,000.

  • Open Air Fire Ban Lifted in Perth County

    PERTH COUNTY (August 25, 2025) – Effective at noon today, thanks to the recent rainfall, the open air fire ban will be lifted in the County of Perth, including the City of Stratford. Burn permits can now be issued and must abide by the respective municipality’s open air burn by-law.
