A 3.6% Property Tax impact proposed for average residential property in North Perth
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
At the North Perth Budget Meeting held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, the Council of the Municipality of North Perth gave direction to staff to move forward with the 2023 Draft Budget, as present by Councillor Lee Anne Andriessen The draft budget represents a 3.6 percent property tax impact for the average residential and agricultural property in North Perth. This equates to $2.20 per week increase for the average residential property and $2.77 increase for the average agricultural property.
The draft operational budget will now proceed to public consultation scheduled for the week of April 17, 2023.
The development of the 2023 Budget has a strong focus on public input and engagement. North Perth ratepayers have been invited to provide their input on the 2023 Budget through the Pre-Budget Survey (November 2022), Budget Meetings (January 2023-April 2023), and a virtual presentation and consultation on the draft 2023 Budget.
The budget addresses the need to support important municipal services, meet the service expectations of our citizens, and invest in current and future infrastructure and asset needs, while limiting tax increases during a time when many of our ratepayers are facing the impacts of inflation and affordability.
