Backyard Burning in Urban Areas: Regulations and Complaint Reporting

In recent years, the North Perth Fire Department, By-law Enforcement Staff, as well as Perth County OPP, have received and responded to increased calls and concerns related to backyard burning in residential areas, particularly in the spring and summer months.

The Municipality has observed that there is some confusion regarding rules relating to backyard burning in urban areas and the procedure that must be followed when a complaint is made.
