The Council of the Municipality of North Perth met on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the North Perth Council Chambers (330 Wallace Ave N, Listowel) and livestreamed to YouTube.

Council Meeting Highlights – April 27, 2026

• Council passed the 2026 Tax Rate By-law.
• The Use of Corporate Resources During an Election Policy was established.
• Zoning By-law Amendment (ZN 3-2025) affecting 306 Woodview Drive, Atwood, to rezone the subject lands to facilitate the proposed draft plan of subdivision was approved in principle. Council recommended to Perth County Council that the Draft Plan of Subdivision (NP 25-01) affecting the subject lands be conditionally approved.
• Zoning By-law Amendment (ZN 2-2026) affecting 5788 Line 84 to rezone the subject lands to permit an accessory structure in the front yard was approved.
• Zoning By-law Amendment (ZN 3-2026) affecting 6186 Line 90 to rezone the subject lands to permit the construction of a secondary farm occupation building was approved.
• Council approved the exclusion of the amortization, landfill closure, and post-closure expenses from the 2026 budget, in accordance with Ontario Regulation 284/09.
• W.G. Kelly Construction was awarded the tender for the replacement of the Kinsmen trail bridge contract.
• Staff were directed to research and develop a plan to transition by-law enforcement matters from the Provincial Offences Act mechanism to a municipally administered Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS).
• Council approved the Ward & Uptigrove recommendation to implement the 60th percentile for Council honorariums.

The next regular Council meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Municipality of North Perth Council Chambers and livestreamed to YouTube.

The Municipality of North Perth Council meets the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise indicated. 

Meetings are livestreamed on the Municipality’s YouTube channel and recordings will be available for viewing following each Council meeting. 

Council agendas and previous meeting minutes are posted on the Thursday prior to the Council Meeting and are available on the Municipality’s website or by contacting Legislative Services Staff at clerks@northperth.ca.
