MEDIA RELEASE
Fines and Fees Waived in Celebration of Ontario Public Library Week
North Perth, October 20, 2025 - Ontario Public Library Week is from October 19 – 26th and the North Perth Public Library is making a big splash by reducing barriers! Starting Monday, October 20th, drop by any open branch to get all fines and fees waived from accounts and enter to win an iPad, hand-crafted mugs, and treats.
This is a first for the North Perth Public Library and will be offered until November 10th. This initiative is meant to welcome everyone into the library, including those who may have had a history. It is the perfect opportunity for a clean slate to access our collections again.
The CEO of North Perth Public Library, Ellen Whelan states, “we know that the library can be intimidating for some, but we work every day to make the whole community feel welcome and be able to access our fun collections, even if it has been a while since your last visit. This is the perfect opportunity to revisit what the library can do for you!”
Join us in celebrating all that libraries have to offer: free programming, diverse collections, fun initiatives, and welcoming and safe spaces for all.
