Municipality of North Perth launches engagement initiatives for a series of Corporate Projects
North Perth, September 22, 2026 – The Municipality of North Perth is launching a community engagement process to gather feedback and insights that will guide the development of several major initiatives, including the 2027-2030 Corporate Strategic Plan, a Corporate Branding Plan, and an Economic Development Strategic Plan.
By embarking on this process with support from a third-party consulting team, the Municipality seeks to set a refreshed vision for the organization to best serve the ever-evolving community.
“Our Municipality has much to look forward to, as we continue to grow and build strength and position in our region, our province, and our country,” said Mayor Kasenberg. “This current Council and staff are committed to delivering excellent customer service and working together to ensure our residents’ and businesses' needs are met, and is preparing the ground for the work of the next Council. This collaborative process gives us an opportunity to look ahead, understand how the municipality is changing, and make sure we are responding to the needs of the people who live, work and invest here.”
The Corporate Strategic Plan
A Corporate Strategic Plan identifies the greatest needs within the municipality and the community and sets a vision and direction for how to address them.
This means it informs how tax dollars are spent, whether on things like road repairs and safety or community centres and public space enhancements. These investments in the physical and social infrastructure influence quality of life for residents, and foster environments that attract new residents, entrepreneurs and investors.
The Corporate Brand
The current North Perth logo dates back nearly three decades to the amalgamation of Town of Listowel and the Townships of Elma and Wallace, each represented by a flame, coming together as one, held together within the torch.
“These communities have continued to evolve since the late 1990s individually and collectively, and the same is true for the Municipal organization,” says Kriss Snell, Chief Administrative Officer. “As such, it is time to reevaluate how we present ourselves to the people who live, work and invest here now, and to those we seek to attract in the years to come.”
A modernized and consistent brand is required to enhance recognition, build trust, and reflect the Municipality's vision of being progressive and innovative.
The Economic Development Strategy
A new Economic Development Strategic Plan is set to guide North Perth’s long-term growth, attract investment, and support a vibrant local economy.
The Plan is being developed through research, community engagement, and analysis of emerging trends, and will establish a clear framework to strengthen partnerships, encourage business retention and expansion, and position the Municipality to foster innovation, competitiveness, and sustainable economic growth.
Community Participation
The North Perth community is invited to participate in project engagement initiatives to inform the various strategies, as follows:
- Online survey: A survey for residents, business owners, organizational representatives, and investors is now live at this link: www.surveymonkey.com/r/SurveyNorthPerth. It will take about 10 minutes to complete, and one participant will be randomly selected to win $150 Shop Local Dollars at the end of the survey period.
- Community pop-ups: Residents are invited to look out for community pop-ups and participate in visioning exercises as follows:
- September 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Zehrs Listowel (600 Mitchell Rd S, Listowel, ON)
-
October 4, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Elma Logan Recreation Complex during the public skate (200 Nelson St. Monkton, ON)

“We hope people from across North Perth will participate in the engagement initiatives,” says Jessica McLean, Director of Strategic Initiatives. “Community perspectives help to ensure the Corporate Strategic Plan responds directly to the needs of the community; the Corporate Brand embodies how the community views itself as it is today, and who we are growing to be; and the Economic Development Strategic Plan best positions us to foster economic growth in the direction, and at a pace, that makes sense.”
