West End Development and Servicing Master Plan Notice of Open House

THE PROJECT:
The Municipality of North Perth is undertaking a Servicing Master Plan for stormwater, wastewater, and water servicing in the northwest quadrant of Listowel. The West End Development is also undergoing a Secondary Plan process to identify potential land uses, which will include Institutional, Commercial, Residential and Recreational uses. The Master Plan will investigate infrastructure requirements associated with these potential land uses. Upon completion, the Master Plan will serve as a strategic document and identify infrastructure upgrades or expansions to support anticipated growth within the west end development area.

THE MASTER PLAN PROCESS:
The Servicing Master Plan is being conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) document, dated October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011, 2015, 2023 and 2024, under the Environmental Assessment Act.

Master Plan studies incorporate Phases 1 & 2 of the Class EA process (identification of the problem or opportunity, and evaluation of alternative solutions) and also include consultation with the general public, community partners, government review agencies and Indigenous communities.

PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT:
Public consultation is a key component of this study. A Public Open House is being organized by North Perth in order to obtain input from residents on the status of study investigations. The meeting will provide details about the Master Plan process, the location and type of land uses being considered for municipally-owned lands in the study area, and anticipated timelines and growth expectations. Representatives from North Perth and the project engineers, will be present at the meeting to answer questions. Details of the meeting are as follows:

Place: Steve Kerr Memorial Complex Community Room – 965 Binning St. W, Listowel
Time: Open House – 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. & 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
