The Clerk's Department prepares and distributes agendas, records the proceedings of meetings, provides procedural guidance to chairpersons, ensures that any direction emanating for Council or Committee meeting is acted upon, and prepares correspondence to staff, other levels of government, governmental agencies and members of the public.

Closed meeting investigations
The Municipality of North Perth has engaged the services of Gregory Stewart as the Municipal Closed Meeting Investigator and has authorized him to conduct investigations of complaint regarding meetings or part of meetings that are closed to the public. The Investigator will determine compliance with the Act or the applicable procedural by-law (consolidated) regarding closed meetings and will report on the results of investigations.

Complaint procedure
All complaints must be recorded on the Municipal Investigation Complaint Form and be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “private and confidential”. All complaints will be treated as confidential at all times and will be forwarded directly to Gregory Stewart.
Complaints may be submitted by mail or delivered directly to the Municipal Clerk.
