North Perth offers a variety of quality healthcare services. These services include a hospital, medical clinic, public health services, and other healthcare resources.

Listowel Memorial Hospital

Listowel Memorial Hospital is a fully accredited and updated hospital and has been providing hospital services to the residents of the North Perth area. The hospital offers primary and secondary services and 24-hour emergency services. Physicians and other regularly scheduled specialist clinics provide patient care and diagnostic services.

Listowel-Wingham and Area Family Health Team

The Listowel-Wingham and Area Family Health Team provides primary care services to our community. The Fischer Family Primary Care Centre provides a modern and professional home for all services offered by the health team.

The Listowel-Wingham and Area Family Health Team is located at 185 Inkerman St. E., Listowel, and can be contacted at 519-291-4200.

If you have recently moved to our community and are looking for a new physician, please call 519-291-4200 to see if a physician is currently accepting patients. If no physicians are accepting patients, you can contact Health Care Connect. This is a provincial program designed to help you find a family healthcare provider. Health Care Connect can be contacted toll-free at 1-800-445-1822.

Huron Perth Public Health

Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) works with our community to promote and protect health and prevent illness, based on community need, evidence and law. HPPH is dedicated to delivering public health programs, classes and services in our community that are accessible for everyone.

Community Safety and Well-Being Plan

The Municipality of North Perth, City of Stratford, Town of St. Marys, Municipality of West Perth, Township of Perth East, and Township of Perth South partnered on the development and implementation of the Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) Plan. The purpose of the CSWB Plan is to:

  1. Provides a roadmap for inclusive, connected, and coordinated safety and well-being planning

  2. Ensures a proactive and integrated approach to addressing local crime and complex social issues on a sustainable basis

  3. Identifies key priorities for safety and well-being planning locally

  4. Supports and strengthens existing initiatives related to community safety and well-being

  5. Addresses local service and systems gaps

Huron Perth Helpline & Crisis Response Team (24 HR Crisis Line) 

The Huron Perth Helpline & Crisis Response Team is available to all residents of Huron and Perth Counties. It is a 24-hour crisis phone service, with crisis assessments, brief crisis therapy and crisis education.

BounceBack Ontario

BounceBack® is a free skill-building program managed by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). It is designed to help adults and youth 15+ manage low mood, mild to moderate depression and anxiety, stress or worry. Delivered over the phone with a coach and through online videos, you will get access to tools that will support you on your path to mental wellness.

Children’s Mental Health in Ontario

Kids Mental Health advocates for children's mental health and offers informational articles and guides, but does not offer any direct support to families. The aim is to help parents and professionals learn and understand mental illness and what they can do to protect themselves and their children. 

ConnexOntario (24 HR Provincial Service) Addiction, Mental Health and Problem Gambling Service

ConnexOntario provides free and confidential health services information for people experiencing problems with alcohol and drugs, mental illness and/or gambling. They are funded by the Government of Ontario.

FSPH Clinical Counselling Team acknowledges that this is a stressful time for people and they endeavour to continue compassionately ensuring access to support for the community.

The Farmer's Toolbox

Dedicated to offering current and important information as well as key resources to help those living in rural areas, especially farmers, to address mental health challenges and find the tools they need. This is an initiative of the Listowel Agricultural Society and local community volunteers.

Good2Talk Post-Secondary Student Help Line

Good2Talk provides free, confidential support services for post-secondary students in Ontario and Nova Scotia.

Huron-Perth Centre (Mental Health Services for Children and Youth)

The Huron-Perth Centre for Children and Youth is an accredited community-based children’s mental health centre. They provide assessment and treatment services for a wide range of mental health concerns for children and youth up to their 18th birthday.

Kids Help Phone

Kids Help Phone is Canada’s only 24/7, national support service. They offer professional counselling, information and referrals and volunteer-led, text-based support to young people in both English and French.

Mind Your Mind

Mindyourmind exists in the space where mental health, wellness, engagement and technology meet. We work with community partners and young people aged 14 to 29 to co-create interactive tools and innovative resources to build capacity and resilience.

North Perth Community Hospice

NPCH is an accredited palliative and grief health care service, providing free and confidential support and education to individuals, families, caregivers and our community who are embracing the challenges of life-limiting illness, death, bereavement or a loss of any kind.

Rural Mental Wellness Toolkit

The Stigma-Free Society is a Canadian Charity with a mission of reducing the stigma around mental health. In rural and agricultural communities, there is a mental health crisis due to the lack of resources that exist, and the stigma discourages people from getting help.

The Huron Perth Seniors Mental Health Program provides assessment and treatment for older adults experiencing responsive behaviours associated with complex and challenging mental health, addictions, dementia or other neurological conditions in the home, community or long-term care.

Togetherall is a safe, online community where people support each other anonymously to improve mental health and well-being. Some key features of the online community include trained practitioners available 24/7 to keep the community safe, self-assessments & recommended resources, creative tools to help express how you’re feeling and a wide range of self-guided courses to do at your own pace.

Wellness Together Canada: Mental Health and Substance Use Support

Wellness Together Canada provides tools and resources to help get Canadians back on track in response to the significant strain that COVID-19 has placed on individuals and families. Resources and tools include modules for addressing low mood, worry, substance use, social isolation and relationship issues.
