Tax Rates

The tax rate is determined each year as part of the Municipal budget process. Each tax dollar is distributed amongst the Municipality of North Perth, County of Perth and local school boards.

North Perth Council approves the municipal tax rate. The County of Perth determines the county tax rate. The Province of Ontario is responsible for determining the school board rates.

To calculate the amount of your property taxes, multiple your appropriate tax rate by your property assessment.

The tax rates do not include charges for local improvements, sewer debentures, tile drainage loans, or any other charges billed with taxes.

In the 2021 North Perth Budget, Council approved a storm water management area rate (SMAR) levy in the amount of $245,000 to provide funding for future storm water management services in the built up area of Listowel including some bridge development. This amount will be on the left side of you tax bill under SWM Rate. Similar to taxes multiply the appropriate storm water rate by your property assessment.
