Drainage
A municipal drain is a drainage system used to improve the drainage on agricultural land and to remove excess water collected on other properties. The Drainage Act allows property owners to have such drainage systems constructed and maintained.
North Perth is responsible for the maintenance, repair and improvement of all municipal drain infrastructure in the municipality.
The Drainage Act sets out the procedures to be followed for maintenance, repair, and improvement of all current municipal drain under By-laws passed by Council or new drains constructed under the Act.
If a municipal drain is affecting your lands or requires maintenance, please contact Public Works.
