(Perth-Wellington) – New job-training opportunities are coming to Perth-Wellington, Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece announced today at Smith Steel & Fabrication in Atwood.

At the North Perth Council Meeting held on Monday, March 7, 2022, the Council of the Municipality of North Perth approved the 2022 Capital and Operating Budget.

In response to the recent announcement from the Province of Ontario, Municipally operated recreation facilities in North Perth will re-open to the public on Monday January 31, 2022. All provincial guidelines/restrictions will be followed, including proof of vaccination requirements. QR Codes will be the only proof of vaccination accepted at all Municipal recreation facilities.

The new year will look quite different for many departments within the Municipality of North Perth, with 2021 marking the end of an era for many long-serving municipal employees. Since the beginning of the year, six Municipality of North Perth employees, each with at least 20 years of service, have announced their retirement.

With 2021 marking 43 years of dedicated service with the Municipality of North Perth and the former Town of Listowel, North Perth’s Municipal Clerk, Patricia Berfelz, has announced her intention to retire effective February 2022.

Please be advised that the North Perth Fire Department will be transferring emergency dispatching from Stratford Fire Department to Owen Sound Police Service Emergency Communication Centre as of Wednesday, January 5^th 2022.

Earlier this year, the municipalities of Stratford, St. Marys, North Perth, West Perth, Perth East, and Perth South unveiled a joint Community Safety and Well-being (CSWB) Plan which provides a roadmap for coordinating local safety and well-being planning.

Together with multiple agencies, including United Way Perth-Huron, The City of Stratford Social Services and The Salvation Army, the Municipality of North Perth is committed to taking collaborative action on homelessness and affordable housing in North Perth.
