  • Fines and Fees Waived in Celebration of Ontario Public Library Week

    North Perth, October 20, 2025 - Ontario Public Library Week is from October 19 – 26th and the North Perth Public Library is making a big splash by reducing barriers! Starting Monday, October 20th,  drop by any open branch to get all fines and fees waived from accounts and enter to win an iPad, hand-crafted mugs, and treats.

    North Perth, October 10, 2025 – The Municipality of North Perth and the North Perth Fire Department are proud to launch a new Grain Bin Safety Public Service Announcement (PSA) created by Memory Tree Productions. This impactful 60-second video raises awareness about the serious risks associated with grain bins and promotes safe practices within the agricultural community.

  • Perth County Reads brings back Celebrated Author Dan Needles

    North Perth, October 1, 2025 - The Perth County Information Network (PCIN) is thrilled to announce the return of Dan Needles for two author readings as part of its 2025 Perth County Reads events. Perth County Reads is a community-wide reading initiative designed to inspire conversation, connection, and a shared love of literature across the county.

  • Notice of Public Information Centre: North Perth’s Stormwater Rate Study

    North Perth residents are invited to attend the Public Information Centre on the proposed reconstruction of Binning Street West to learn more about the project, ask questions, and provide comments.

  • Municipality of North Perth Donates Land to Community Living North Perth for Supported Housing Project

    On September 8, 2025, North Perth Council unanimously supported the donation of a municipally-owned parcel of land at 580 Main Street West, Listowel, to Community Living North Perth for the development of a 15-unit supported housing facility. The 0.3 acre parcel of land, which has been declared surplus by the Municipality, has an estimated market value of $250,000.

  • Open Air Fire Ban Lifted in Perth County

    PERTH COUNTY (August 25, 2025) – Effective at noon today, thanks to the recent rainfall, the open air fire ban will be lifted in the County of Perth, including the City of Stratford. Burn permits can now be issued and must abide by the respective municipality’s open air burn by-law.

  • Action-packed PD Days on the horizon at the North Perth Public Library

    North Perth, August 21, 2025 - With roughly one Professional Development Day a month on the horizon for students in the Avon Maitland District School Board, the North Perth Public Library is taking action.

    Starting with the PD Day on September 2, 2025, all North Perth Public Library branches will have exciting activities to entertain students for the day. All programs are free, cover a wide age range, and are inclusive. There will be a variety of both structured programs and passive activities to participate in at any time.

  • Open Air Fire Ban in Perth County

    PERTH COUNTY (August 6, 2025) – Effective at midnight tonight, all open air fires are prohibited
    anywhere in Perth County, including the City of Stratford. Open air fires are defined as any fire
    outside of a building and include any fires that are not in a contained campfire pit, or any other fires
    set in open air.

  • Mayor Kasenberg Delegates Authorities Under New Strong Mayor Powers

    On May 1, 2025, the Province of Ontario expanded Strong Mayor Powers to an additional 170 municipalities, including the Municipality of North Perth. This designation grants the Mayor additional powers that are intended to help advance provincial priorities, such as building more homes, transit and other infrastructure across Ontario. In response, Mayor Todd Kasenberg has chosen to delegate specific authorities back to Council and the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) through official Mayoral Decisions. The delegated authorities include:

    This year’s title is Finding Larkspur by acclaimed Canadian author Dan Needles. Best known for his beloved Wingfield Farm series, Dan’s storytelling captures the heart of rural Ontario life, making him the perfect voice to bring the community together through reading.
